Hi everybody, this CP studio shows a tutorial how to use palette knives to create different paintings for beginners. I hope these will be out of your expectations. Let’s do it. The first best thing we are going to do is paint some paintings of clouds, grass and river today. Sure, we can get landscape, cityscape, portrait, face paintings by palette knife. It is a pretty good knife. It is very important to get a knife that bends in the middle. Because you can easily paint on canvas painting, particularly when you paint, it is conducive to taking oil acrylic to the painting. Now when you get a modern painting with a palette knife, it is awesome.
In my opinion, creating a variation of painting colors is not pretty easy. That is why I did the color stream the thing. Do you know the effect of impressionist painting? There is a person who is good at impressionism called leonid afremov. I got some interesting things. I am gonna do knife cloud painting with a palette knife. It will take a long time to finish painting. I decided to let you know the abstract sky is not the point, it is always similar when you finish painting it. So I am going to continue mixing a kind of beautiful light color. It is like a kind of peach with a very light pink color. So no matter how, scoop a little bit of pink acrylic with a palette knife. I am gonna paint the perfect straight edge of acrylic, just flap on the painting. Especially when we do something like the loose thing, you might need to make it a little more or even more careful.
I do have another side to this knife. You have to use the little side. It is good for mixing the painting. Now you can see more details about painting. And then, the harder you smooth, the more mixing the tone of the middle. First, the painting should have a highlight, the second intermediate tone. You just work in the painting of abstract cloud end. It seems there is too much paint on there. It is stuff to keep this going build up layers. Do not think that due to using the palette knife to do a painting, all rules disappear. Now we have almost finished these pieces of clouds on painting. I just want to break the amount of painting large dark and some grey zones. Its color is nearly the same as the sky. Throw some colors here.
Now there is maybe a kind of funny part. What we need to do the last thing is wipe clean our palette knife before you paint here. I will wipe it carefully again and again. If your knife is wrapped in acrylic oil, that does not work. It is only work in the circumstances of a clean knife.
You know it is about as soft as you would ever want a palette knife to paint. Coming back to the painting of little grass with a brush. It is great. Do you know that you want to do some different paintings that will happen? We use the same palette knife to make some difference. There is a little bit of green on painting. You will hate the thick growth of grass soon after. And if you want to get some painting of textured, I am going take a brush with the shape of a fan. But if we grab a palette knife, what will happen? Let’s see. In this circumstance, I will take the palette knife to do all the things and try to show you something on knife painting you can do different things. If you like, you can use the palette knife in common paintings. It is not unique to painting with a palette knife. So I hope these techniques can let you know a palette knife can pretty melt together with a brush to perfect fit the painting. There are lots of brushes that can not make the palette knife of painting look good. Let’s have fun here. It is a clean knife just like a little oval. Now there is some grass. You are bending the knife and just a little bit of the blade here is touching. That is kind of pulling the paint. It is really cool. The more you do, the more disappear. I only need to fill up that place on the painting. We use it to add a bit of extra fun and texture.
If you are willing, you can come back to the brush. I will do the same thing here. I will paint gently. We can pull upward carefully some of them. Now you will not have a tough line. It is so cool, isn’t it? I love it. So I need to do it again here with push hard. We have done a good job. I am gonna paint with a large brush. I think you can turn it around and pull it up. We create a kind of feeling like a painting of impressionistic grassland that is pretty interesting. So if you want to change your painting, You can grasp the palette knife. You know most of our paintings are detailed. We also can paint without a palette knife, but we indeed try and use it. Because the palette knife can do some paintings you would not to do. I really hope it not only can be used in rough paintings but also create beautiful paintings. Do you think that we create some flowers? Let’s try a little white and a little blue. Now you would not think of using the palette knife to paint waterfowl still life. So let me tell you that it is only soft blue and a little bit of red, so it is a sharp blue. The painting is really cool. I just drip a drop to make it disappear. I paint some birch and trees of life and the painting with a palette knife. At least I want to show something you may not be familiar with. It is cool. You can go crazy about it, or you do not need to do that. It depends on what you want to do here. I am just going to rub to get a little turbulence painting, a little rushing water, a little of leaves and then push them all together. You go get in there and smooth that color. Because it is helpful for creating some reflections on painting. It is not the easiest thing in the world. But let me show you how to make it easy to see. I will grasp the color and pull it down hard. There are all the things you need, take a little bit of white acrylic and sparkle at the top of painting. And then take a little white again, and touch it down, do not use the brush stand out excessively. If I do this painting with a brush, it is very limited. So I will be exactly the same way with the palette knife extremely limited. In fact, a lot of those look like they need to be brought down to just one level. So they are good.
